Proposal preparation and submission support

The pre-award phase is critical to the success of any research project. AARS assists with the development and submission of contract and grant proposals to a wide range of external sponsors.

Our pre-award services include:

  • Timeline Planning
We ask that researchers notify us at least four weeks prior to the sponsor’s deadline to allow sufficient time for proposal preparation and review.

  • Budget Development
AARS works with PIs to develop detailed, sponsor-compliant budgets that meet both university and sponsor requirements. This includes salary projections, fringe benefits, indirect costs (F&A), subawards, and cost-sharing documentation.

  • Internal Forms and Compliance Coordination
We assist with the preparation and routing of all required institutional forms, including:
    • PI Information Sheet
    • Conflict of Interest disclosures (e.g., Form 700U, PHS/NSF FCOI)
    • Subrecipient commitment forms
    • PI eligibility exception requests (if applicable)
    • Human Subjects (Human Subjects Compliance)

  • Proposal Submission
AARS ensures timely and accurate submission of proposals through platforms such as Cayuse, Grants.gov, and Research.gov. We also coordinate with the university’s Office of Research to meet the required 7-business-day internal deadline for proposal review and institutional approval.
