Updates for week 2 of winter quarter:
Accommodations for Medical Reasons
If an undergraduate in your class requests accommodation for medical reasons, please do not ask the student to get a ’note’ from Student Health —the staff at Student Health are being asked to run out extensive covid-19 testing operation, plan for and administer vaccines, and continue to meet the existing health needs of our students. Students who test positive are notified electronically; they may want to forward this to you. Similarly, students who have been asked to quarantine (regardless of testing status) may take a screenshot of the quarantine badge.
Update from the Disabled Students Program
For the duration of remote instruction, students will not submit separate requests for accommodations for exams. Faculty will continue to receive the standard Letter of Accommodation with information about how to determine what accommodations are required.
Students requiring similar types of accommodation can be grouped together in GauchoSpace. For details see the GauchoSpace Extended Time Test Protocol help pages. Faculty with students who have DSP accommodations and who require proctored exams should still submit proctor requests to the DSP office. GauchoSpace Grade Forecast Report
Once your grade book in GauchoSpace is set up with all of your categories and/or assessments, it can be helpful to enable the Grade Forecast Report in your grade book settings. This will allow students to enter anticipated (or desired) grades on upcoming activities to forecast how that will impact their final grade, ultimately giving them a better sense of how well they are currently doing in the course.
