Technology Infrastructure Fee

Re:                   Technology Infrastructure Fee

Beginning July 2012 the way that university departments pay for campus network operations and security services will change.  The Technology Infrastructure Fee (TIF) will replace the annual RUAC Internet address fee and the monthly Data Network Surcharge on business telephones.   The TIF distributes costs based on employee FTE counts. 

The approved rate for the TIF for fiscal year 2012-2013 is $8.12 per FTE per month.  This initial rate is set to provide the same services at the same cost level as the previous RUAC and DNS fees.

In the next few days, each department will be receiving a mailing describing what they need to do before the first TIF billing occurs in July.  If you have additional questions, please contact Elise Meyer, Associate Director of the Office of Information Technology at tif@oist.ucsb.edu or 893-5050.
