Dear Colleagues, Please use this link (also corrected in the email below) to sign up for student lunches. Full email is below.

Dear Faculty Colleagues,
After a lengthy period of remote learning our students are eager to meet you in person both in your classrooms and in more informal settings. Students WANT to connect with you!
To facilitate these connections we are inviting you to have lunch with students (outdoors) at the Dining Commons. We hope you will accept this invitation!
Click on this lunch spreadsheet to select a day and a specific dining commons (beginning week 2). Lunch is complimentary for you and will take place from 12-1pm. List your name, department, and mail code in the slot that works best for you and we will send you a Dining Commons ticket through campus mail. Click here to find your mail code. You are welcome to sign up for up to two lunches during Fall quarter. When you arrive at your selected Dining Commons, locate the outdoor eating area and look for the reserved table marked “Lunch with a Prof.”
If you are teaching undergraduate students during fall, you are encouraged to invite students in your class(es) to join you for this lunch. Here is an email template that you can use to do so. Your lunch date will also be announced to students in the Residence Halls.
What do I need to do to prepare? You do not need to prepare anything in advance. Simply arrive and engage with students about virtually anything. If you’d like some conversation starters, click here.
Dietary Requirements: The Dining Commons have a wide range of food options to meet virtually every dietary requirement. Click here to learn more about their commitment to sustainable, local, and organic food.

On the day of your lunch:
- Your green “Cleared to be on-site at a UCSB Facility” badge is required for entry. For information on how to access the screening survey and clearance badge click here.
- A mask is required for entry and all students, faculty, and staff are expected to wear a mask anytime they are not seated at their dining table.
- All entering the dining halls will be asked to sanitize their hands upon entry.
- Kindly bus your own dishes, cutlery, and glassware to the dish return before departing.
- Not all tables have shade, so please bring sunblock, sun glasses, a hat or other protective coverings.
If you have any questions, please contact Yasmine Dominguez-Whitehead at: ywhitehead@ucsb.edu
Thanks for joining this effort to welcome students back to campus!
