Re: Accreditation Draft Report
As you may know UCSB is in the process of re-affirming its accreditation through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). This is a lengthy process that includes submitting a campus proposal followed by campus visits by two WASC teams. In 2009 our campus submitted a Proposal to WASC concerning the accreditation. This proposal, with some modifications, was accepted by WASC. The campus is now preparing for the next step in the accreditation process, the Capacity and Preparatory Review, which will include a campus visit by a WASC team. In preparation for this step the campus must submit a Capacity and Preparatory Review Report. The WASC Steering Committee for UCSB Reaffirmation of Accreditation has completed a draft of that report, which is now available for general review. The draft report can be viewed at:

The accreditation process is an important one. It impact students, faculty, and staff. It is important that the process be as open and as inclusive as possible. I ask for your assistance in ensuring a successful campus reaccreditation.
