Re: | UCPath: The New UC Payroll/Personnel System |
We are happy to provide the campus with information regarding UCPath. UCPath is an acronym for Payroll, Academic Personnel, Timekeeping and Human Resources. The UCPath project starts the University on its path toward a unified, efficient, and cost-effective payroll and human resources system for all ten UC campuses and five UC medical centers.
Preparations for the new system have been underway since 2009, when UC controllers and other critical stakeholders completed an assessment of the existing, 30-year-old Payroll Personnel system. Since then, leaders from all the UC campuses have been working together to develop the requirements for the new system, and to design more efficient standard UC business practices for delivering payroll and human resources services.
In June 2011, UC selected Oracle’s PeopleSoft payroll personnel software and started implementation activities. Implementation started immediately for the UCLA, UC Merced, UC San Diego, UC Santa Cruz, and UC Office of the President locations. The remaining campuses will be part of two subsequent waves of implementation.
UCSB plans to be part of the "third wave," which means UCSB implementation should begin in October 2013. Leadership from Administrative Services, Academic Personnel, Human Resources, Accounting Services & Controls, Information Systems & Technology, the UCSB Operational Effectiveness groups and others are already working to plan UCSB’s transition.
More information about the UCPath project, including weekly project updates, is available on the it.ucsb.edu web site at https://it.ucsb.edu/projects/ucpath. For further questions, please contact either UCSB UCPath project manager Karl Heins, Chief Information Security Officer (karl.heins@oist.ucsb.edu); Jim Corkill, Director of Accounting Services (jim.corkill@accounting.ucsb.edu); Cindy Doherty, Director of Academic Personnel (cindy.doherty@ap.ucb.edu); or Tricia Hiemstra, Director of Human Resources (tricia.hiemstra@hr.ucsb.edu).
Thank you for your current and future efforts to help make this project successful.
