Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to update you on the status of the Testing Center and related DSP services that students and faculty rely on for accommodations and delivery of testing outside traditional class time, including timed midterms and finals. We have recently completed the renovation of a new space to be utilized for DSP testing accommodations in what was previously the Music Library space, on the 2nd floor of the Music building. Testing Center staff have since successfully relocated from the previous space in the Old Gym, and the new Academic Testing Center will be in operation in Music 2410 to facilitate DSP accommodations for final exams during Spring 2025 and beyond.

Beyond serving DSP accommodation needs, in the future we hope to utilize this new space to expand the services offered by the Center to include support for general (non-DSP) testing accommodations, standardized testing, and piloting new models of asynchronous testing to be made available as an option for UCSB instructors in the future. We look forward to providing updates on these initiatives in the coming months.

Thank you for your support.
