Re: | Priscilla Mori, Campus Ombuds |
After 40 years on the campus, Priscilla Mori, the Campus Ombuds, has decided to retire, effective June 28, 2012. I am moving forward to form a search committee as we recruit for a new Campus Ombuds.
Priscilla has been in her current role in the Office of the Ombuds since 2007. Prior to that she served in the College of Letters and Science as the Director of Letters and Science Business Services. She spent 15 years as the Business Officer in the Earth Science Department. Her earlier career path led her through the College of Letters and Science as an Administrative Analyst, the Department of Economics as an Undergraduate Advisor, the Office of Admissions as an Evaluator, and the Office of the Registrar as a Senior Stenographer. During the early years on campus, she completed her degree in Combination Social Science with an Anthropology emphasis while working full time.
In addition to her service on a variety of campus committees, she has been a mediator and Restorative Justice facilitator, and has demonstrated a commitment to strengthening campus community through alternative dispute resolution, collaboration, and policy development. She has served as a member and co-chair of the Threat Management Team.
Her multi-faceted campus experience has allowed her to impact a wide variety of individuals and departments on campus. Please join me in thanking Priscilla for her years of devotion to making UC Santa Barbara a better place. We will certainly miss her, and we wish her all the best in retirement.
