Re: Change of Student System Conversion and Go Live Date

As you may know, UCSB has been working on moving off our legacy mainframe student systems to a more modern environment through a code conversion process that will allow our student systems to adapt and meet changing campus needs. We were planning to do the cut over from the old mainframe system to the new system this August. Given the work load to complete the student systems code conversion, the cut over and go-live date for the new Student Information System has been moved from this August 2012 to December 2012 to allow for more time for the code conversion process to be completed successfully.

When the converted student system is ready to go-live in December, there will be a black-out period for five to six days starting December 26th and ending December 31st.  During this time period, student systems will be down and no updates or transactions will occur.  We are planning to make this as smooth a transition as possible and we will continue to update the campus as any new information is made available.

Lastly, I would like to wish Student Affair’s Student Information Systems and Technology for their extraordinary efforts in this critical campus systems conversion.
