New Policy on Gifts, Grants, Contracts and Sponsorship Determinations

Dear Campus Community,

With the endorsement of the vice chancellors, deans, associate vice chancellors, and relevant functional units, I've approved a new policy on Gifts, Grants, Contracts, and Sponsorships Determinations <http://www.policy.ucsb.edu/policies/policy-docs/gifts-grants-contracts-sponsorships.pdf>.  The new policy represents best practices among research universities.

I thank the Gifts/Grants Committee that developed the policy after researching procedures at UCLA, UCB, UCI, Stanford, University of Michigan, University of Colorado, University of Notre Dame, and other nationally recognized educational institutions.  The committee did an excellent job working through the issues and creating a new policy that will serve our campus well.
