UC Santa Barbara is engaged in an ongoing effort to assess its reputation and raise its profile with a variety of constituencies. This strategic communications planning, motivated in part by priorities related to fundraising and to faculty and student recruitment, became more urgent after the events of last spring. As part of this effort, the Office of Public Affairs and Communications is working with a consultant who will conduct a survey that will explore opinions about the university.
In the next several days, you will receive a link to this survey. We are writing to let you know that this survey is authorized by UC Santa Barbara and to encourage your participation. Your views are very important to this research and to our university.
Faculty and staff will receive an email from SimpsonScarborough, the higher education research firm with which UC Santa Barbara is partnering on this study. The message will be titled “UCSB Online Survey.” There will be a link in the message that will allow you to access the survey online. The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete.
To ensure confidentiality, your responses will be submitted directly to SimpsonScarborough. The results of the study will be presented to UC Santa Barbara only in the aggregate, and your identity will be kept strictly confidential.
Your opinions will be highly valued, and we hope you will participate in this important research project. Thank you in advance for taking the time to participate. If you have questions, please contact Daniel Himmelfarb, Project Strategist, at dh@simpsonscarborough.com.
Thank you.
