February 6, 2015

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of UC Santa Barbara’s Council on Assessment, I am pleased to announce that the Assessment Grant Program will continue for academic year 2015-16. The primary purpose of this program is to provide support for the assessment of student learning outcomes in undergraduate majors, graduate programs, and departmental offerings in the general education program.

This grant program will make funds available to establish achievable and sustainable assessment activities. The assessment project should involve posing questions related to program learning outcomes and gathering and analyzing evidence related to these questions. It is expected that these assessment activities, once established, will provide the basis for continued improvement and development of academic programs. All members of the Academic Senate are eligible to apply to the Assessment Grant Program.

Proposals are due Friday, April 10, 2015. The Council expects to make several awards of up to $5,000. Awards will be announced by May 10, 2015. An informational panel for potential PIs will be held on February 23, 2015, from 4:00-5:00 PM, with a reception to follow in the Mosher Alumni House. For further details and application information, please refer to the UCSB Assessment Grant Program proposal guidelines published online at:
