Call for Edward A. Dickson Emeriti Professorship Nominations

I invite departments to submit nominations for the Dickson Emeriti Professorship, which is awarded on an annual basis for a term of one academic year to an emerita or emeritus faculty member. $10,000 will be provided in conjunction with this award. Funds may be used to support the research, recall teaching appointment, or public service of the Dickson Emeriti Professor. Past recipients of the Dickson Emeriti Professorship have found this to be a rewarding opportunity that has renewed their connection with the campus.

The departmental nomination should describe how the funds would be used and explain the proposed activity’s benefit to the department or to the campus or University as a whole. Recommendations should be submitted to my office via the appropriate Dean’s office by April 30, 2016. Questions may be directed to Cindy Doherty at cindy.doherty@ucsb.edu or x8332.
