Re:      National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity

As faculty, graduate students, postdocs, and other members of our academic community adjust to the conditions of teaching, learning, and working remotely, this is a good moment to inform you or remind you that the Executive Vice Chancellor’s Office sponsors an institutional membership for UC Santa Barbara with the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD).

The National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity is an independent professional development, training, and mentoring community for faculty members, postdocs, graduate students, and academic staff, dedicated to supporting academics in making successful transitions throughout their careers. Our membership provides a series of mentoring services, including workshops focused on research and writing strategies, networking opportunities, and other forms of professional support and faculty development resources. NCFDD specializes in webinars, remote seminars and short-term courses with experts, support groups for dissertation writers and faculty, and other forms of professional and career development. Its remote infrastructure and community-building strategies may be especially useful in these times.

NCFDD also has a new site, NCFDD Resources: COVID-19, that offers advice, workshops, resources, and links to help members respond to the challenges facing us all.

To review the available benefits offered by NCFDD and to activate your sponsored membership, you may log on to www.FacultyDiversity.org and follow the instructions listed in the attached flyer.

We encourage you to take advantage of the resources available for our academic community. Stay well. Thank you.
