Turn on Zoom Live Transcripts/Closed Captioning in your Zoom account

Enable live computer-generated transcription for meetings and webinars. The Zoom live transcription service uses automatic speech recognition software, so names and other words may not be displayed correctly, and accents may produce less accurate results.

  1. Login to your Zoom Settings.
  2. Click “In Meeting (Advanced)”
  3. Toggle “Closed captioning” ON.
  4. Check the box for “Enable live transcription services to show transcript on the side panel in-meeting.” You can also allow users to save the transcription.
  5. Participants can hide subtitles or view the full transcript.

Mid-Quarter Feedback from Your Students

Students appreciate it when instructors ask for their feedback in order to enhance courses real-time.

  • You can add a GauchoSpace mid-quarter feedback survey template to your course and edit the questions.  There is a longer, 15-question template and a shorter template with three open-ended questions.
  • Consider writing custom questions that are short, focused and personal to learn about aspects of your course that you are willing and able to adjust mid-quarter. For example:

This quarter, I am [what you are doing] in order to [purpose].  How effective has this been for you?
