Dear Faculty,
A quick note to share three ways you can still participate in UCSB Reads 2024 in spring quarter:
- Request free copies of the UCSB Reads 2024 book ”Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us” by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross for students in your classes.
- Encourage your students to participate in UCSB Reads 2024 programming that includes book clubs, arts workshops, the public presentation by the authors, and more.
- Request one or both authors to come to your class when they visit campus May 7 and 8.
To request free copies of the book, a class visit by the authors or more information, please email UCSBReads@library.ucsb.edu.
About UCSB Reads
Now in its 18th year, UCSB Reads brings the campus and Santa Barbara communities together to read a common book that explores compelling issues of our time. Each year, a committee of faculty, staff, students, and community partners convene to select an intellectually stimulating, interdisciplinary book by a living author that appeals to a wide range of readers and can be incorporated into the UCSB curriculum.
Thank you,
Alex Regan
