Welcome to Winter quarter warmup! 
This newsletter includes information about Winter quarter preparation, upcoming workshops, and opportunities to teach in Project-Based Learning rooms in Spring quarter. Read on!

Winter Quarter
Teaching Support and Workshops for Winter 2023: The OTL's Winter Workshops for Instructors offers interactive sessions on Canvas, Instructional Grants, Chat GPT Playdate, Data-enhanced teaching and learning, and a series of new workshops on Engaged Learning.

GauchoSpace and Canvas Winter 2023 Course Sites: For Winter 2023, course sites will not be automatically created. To create your Winter 2023 course sites in either GauchoSpace or Canvas, log in to GauchoSpace and use the UCSB Site Creator Block on the right side of your GauchoSpace Dashboard and click on the green + sign to create your course site. You will be prompted with the option to create your course site in either GauchoSpace or Canvas. More information can be found here. 

Demo Days Drop-in Hours are January 4th and 5th!

Familiarize yourself with classrooms and technology for Winter quarter! We encourage all new and returning instructors and TAs to take advantage of this opportunity. Bing any laptops, tablets or other technologies intended for your class. Please review our key classroom information to complete vital tasks that will allow you to utilize our technology. Teach in a Project-Based Learning Room in Spring 2023 (including in the Interactive Learning Pavilion)
With the opening of the Interactive Learning Pavilion in Spring 2023, instructors can now take advantage of even more project-based learning classrooms! These rooms are designed to facilitate team learning for groups of 5-9 students. Each group has access to a computer monitor and/or whiteboard and microphones that enable instructors to move around the room. They also have white/glassboards and projection visible from multiple vantage points.
