Dear Campus Colleagues,

As indicated in the 02/23/2026 Campus Memo: “Important Updating digital accessibility standards,” we have a responsibility to ensure that our resources are inclusive and compliant with federal regulations and University of California policies on accessibility.

Part of this responsibility includes updating the Disabled Students Program (DSP) portal. Beginning in Spring 2026, DSP will transition to a new accommodations portal. With this new system, we aim to improve accessibility and ease of use, informed by years of feedback. The new portal will provide a smoother, more supportive experience for students, faculty, and staff when requesting and scheduling accommodations. It will offer many advantages to provide an improved user experience, including but not limited to:

  • Streamlined exam setup: instructors enter exam details once, and exams are created for each student or student group based on each student’s accommodations
  • Optional secure electronic transmission of exams to and from the Academic Testing Center
  • Improved visibility and organization of students’ Letters of Accommodation (formerly known as Instructor Letters) and requested accommodations
  • Modernized and user-friendly interface

In the coming weeks, additional information, including step-by-step guides and other training materials to ensure a smooth transition, will be available on the DSP website. To support you during this process, DSP staff will also offer multiple opportunities to meet for personalized assistance with learning the new portal. These opportunities will include both in-person and virtual options, with times available to fit a variety of schedules.

DSP is excited about the transition to MyDSP and looks forward to working with you on the new system. If you have any questions, please contact dspaccess@ucsb.edu

Again, we thank you in advance for your support and collaboration.
