Dear Faculty:
To improve transparency and reproducibility in science, many funders and publishers have started mandating data sharing. The choice of data repository is often left to researchers. While there are many options out there, we recommend you always choose a reliable and trustworthy data repository to house your research data. We encourage you to consider Dryad!
UCSB Library supports and offers, free of charge, Dryad, a self-archiving, disciplinary agnostic and CoreTrustSeal-certified data repository, which provides a number of features, including:
- Integration with ORCID (researcher ID) profiles
- Automatic Persistent identifiers (DOIs) assignment to datasets
- Metrics (views, downloads, and citation)
- Curation support (locally and from CDL)
- Indexing on Thomson-Reuters Data Citation Index, Scopus, and Google Dataset Search
- Integration with over 100 publishers’ workflow (check for journal titles)
- Embargo period setting and more
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or if you would like to learn more about Dryad and schedule a demo.
Best regards,
The Research Data Services team at UCSB Library
