Dear Colleagues,
For those of you teaching in Summer Session B, we hope that your courses are off to a good start. Please see below for information on GauchoCast video integration with GauchoSpace, upcoming service disruptions, and preliminary information on Pre-Fall instructional workshops.
GauchoCast Integration: If students are having trouble accessing videos made prior to March 2020, please go into GauchoCast, click on the video settings, and retrieve the new URL/ add the new links to your GauchoSpace site. When the Panopto video server was upgraded just before Spring quarter 2020, the links to some videos were changed because of the migration to Panopto Cloud.
Campus Core Router Migration work continues: in addition to the core migration work scheduled for Thursday, August 13 from 12:01 to 5 am PDT, the Network Operations Center is preparing for a full campus internet outage on August 20 from 12:01 to 8 am PDT. Final confirmation of this outage will be announced following the August 13 work.
August 2020 Panopto (GauchoCast) Downtime: On Saturday, August 15, Panopto will be making a number of updates to the Panopto Cloud infrastructure to improve performance and scalability. These updates will require downtime. We expect up to 3 hours of downtime, with a target start time of 9:00 pm EDT/6:00 pm PDT. Please let your students know about this outage.
Pre-Fall Workshops: The Instructional Support Team is in the process of planning a series of synchronous workshops and asynchronous resources to help faculty prepare for Fall quarter classes. The series will run during the first three weeks in September. While we are still finalizing plans for the whole series, we do have dates, times, and registration forms already set for a series of GauchoSpace and Gradescope workshops.
